As a women's health physio, I often don't get to see you in the clinic until 6-8 weeks postpartum. A majority of my patients would benefit from starting some simple exercises to restore coordination and motor-control before they reach 6 weeks postpartum. Because modern healthcare is often limited by the rules set in place by insurance companies and the current status quo, I developed the Postpartum Guide to help those of you without access to a pelvic health physical therapist (I do offer telehealth treatments - please reach out so that you don’t have to navigate the postpartum period on your own!)

This guide includes basic activities like breathing and picking up your baby carrier with instructions to guide your body to use the proper muscles in the most efficient way. These exercises and activities are designed to help restore the muscles most directly impacted by child birth - the core and pelvic floor. Every activity is safe to do in the first weeks following child birth - they are all things that you’re already doing!
